Source: Wikipedia.org

Cold calling is the solicitation of business from potential customers who have had no prior contact with the salesperson conducting the call. It is an attempt to convince potential customers to purchase either the salesperson’s product or service. Generally, it is referred as an over-the-phone process, making it a source of telemarketing, but can also be done in-person by door-to-door salespeople. Though cold calling can be used as a legitimate business tool, scammers can use cold calling as well.

    • Hello Soroosh,
Cold calling is calling someone unexpectedly to offer them a service or product that is unsolicited or unrequested. Cold callers receive commissions when they convince a potential customer to purchase a product or service.

  1. 1. Cold calling means to telephone or visit someone you have never met before and try to sell them something.
    2. Fortunately I rarely receive cold calls.
    3. I find the process really boring, but I try to be polite and reject their offers.
    4. They can sometimes be useful, but to me they are more like intruders.
    5. I think it’s better to call people who have more potential to buy the products by having previous data or previous purchases from that establishment. And not just calling random people.
    6. Before buying it’s better to search and google that company and check their reliability and people’s reviews on their services or products. By doing so you would minimize the risk of being trapped by cold callers. Otherwise, you would be likely defrauded.
    7. Telemarkwting is a way of selling products to people in which you telephone people to see if they want to buy something. Teleworking is working from home and communicating with the customers by computer or telephone. So we can say they’re somehow the same.

    • Thank you for your complete and inclusive response. Here is my feedback:
      5. The Establishment with the capital E refers to the people who govern a society.
