Consider the two extreme cases of living in large cities and simple rural areas, i.e. city life vs country life. Please mention your ideal or preferred lifestyle between the two. There will be a heated argument both synchronously in our live classes and asynchronously taking place in this English forum. The first commenter will determine the course of argument.

I will go with city lifestyle

You just designated your choice without any evidence in support of that. In this activity, first you need to provide your reasons to support your claim in the forum. Then in the class, you will argue with your classmates and the teacher ON THE BASIS OF your stated reasons here.

But I prefer setteling down in a quite nice villege with breathtaking natural views.

Choosing rural areas to live in for their tranquility and idyllic outlooks seems to be reasonable. Yet, what can you do with lack of necessary facilities in the country?

Yes, for sure you can not find essential facilities in the country side. Today we are living in 21th century and if we want to live like people from hundred years ago, we will be lagging behind the modern world and the technology. If our body and soul need rest we can easily go on a trip to rural areas.

Going on a trip to rural areas seems to be an interesting and reasonable solution to this situation. However, I should add that these days, you can enjoy modernity and live in the country at the same time, thanks to advancement in technology, particularly the internet.
Your opponents or debaters should respond to this viewpoint raised by you.

Some of the advantages living in countryside:
1- slower peace of life, more relax and less stressful life so more plesenter.
2-less pollution, less noise because there is less industry, less traffic, less building work than in a city so it is healthier to live in a village.
3- stronger communities. Families life there generation after generation. They know eachother very well so community is quite close and neighbor s have a good relationship with eachother.
      4. Bigger and more beautiful house

        4. eachother = each other
        5. house = houses (the last word should be plural)

About the house, they are bigger and they are also old, and their old building structure and walls’ materials even make them dangerous to live in. Today most of the people don’t have a big family like in the pasts and some of them they live alone; so there is no really need to have a big house.

And about the family communication, in today’s world many people prefer to be out of the unnecessary judgment and words of their family members (big aunts and uncles and cousins).

      • #108830

That is also true. These days, people do respect their privacy, and they don’t like to be visited or questioned frequently, even by their close relatives.

All of the things you mentioned seem fancy and beautiful until you need a specialist doctor, or lets dramatize it ’it is an emergency ’. Then what are you going to do? Don’t you wish that you lived in some where nearer to a bigger and reliable hospitals. Country side has fresher air but is not for sure comparable to city in life facilities, better doctors, fire stations, more and better possible jobs, better schools and education for kids, more entertainment options, coffee shops and restaurants, movie theaters and concerts and…

I like the way you express your voice and reasons. It’s fairly comprehensive. Kudos to you! Also I should admire the way you pay attention to the form of what you plan to write about. The form also exerts some influence.

The technical problem you encountered this week was perhaps due to posting several comments one after each other in a short time, and the security system installed on our website thought that you were a spammer. To prevent this issue in the future, please leave comments at an interval of at least 10 minutes.
        Thank you.
