Letter Closing Terms

Letter closing in business letters is really important because letter closing terms, especially in business letter writing will create a positive impression on your addressee.

The type of term you use to close your business letter should depend on your affiliation or relationship with the person you are writing the letter to, and the content of your letter.

Letter Closing Layout

  1. You should capitalize the first word of your closing term, and for the rest of the words, use lower case.
  2. Make sure to put a comma after your letter closing term.
  3. You should include your signature beneath your letter closing or complimentary closing term by typing your name.
  4. There must be one vertical space between your complimentary closing term and your typed signature. That is, you should leave one line empty.
