English Presentation | Working Memory
LELB Lecturer: Dr. Hariri
What is working memory?
Working memory is a crucial cognitive system that allows us to hold and manipulate information temporarily. It’s like a mental workspace where we can store and process information necessary for complex tasks such as reasoning, learning, and comprehension. Unlike long-term memory, which stores information indefinitely, working memory has a limited capacity and duration. For example, when you mentally calculate a math problem or follow a set of instructions, you’re using your working memory. It’s essential for everyday activities and plays a significant role in cognitive development and function.
