Essay 2:

Topic: Do you believe in luck?
Type of Essay: Argumentative

Essayist: Taraneh

For years there was a wide spread debate over the presents or absents of Luck. There is still an ongoing argument about it. I personally don’t believe in Luke. I think everyone can change his destiny, even if God has written it. We should take into account that it is our life and we can change it according to our own desire. There was thousands of people who born in a poor family but they didn’t stay poor till the end. It’s not your fault to born in a poor condition, but if you die poor, it is your mistake.

In this world there is lots of opportunity for anyone who tries to go forward. Actually; whatever mind can conceive and believe it can achieve. If everything was Luke and we could choose nothing, how come these prophets invite us to do good things and ask us to struggle for spiritual supremacy over others, or inform us about the heaven and hell? If it was all Luke and we hadn’t had any authority, we all should have gone to heaven, due to our limitation and absence of volition. However it’s not the thing that they have informed us about. From that point of view, how can you legitimize the wickedness and goodness around the world? If it was correct no one even tried to behave well, there should have been a huge chaos around the world and no one could control it. But there is not. (245 Words)

Would you rather be happy yet slow-witted and unimaginative, or unhappy yet bright and creative? For instance, would you rather live the life of a brilliant yet tortured artist, such as Vincent van Gogh, or that of a happy but carefree soul who is a bit simple-minded?

I prefer to challenge this question at first and bring up my viewpoint next.
There are different successful people in the world who reached the apex through different procedures. Although some have faced torture to reach their goals, it does not mean we have to necessarily lose something in our life to climb the ladder of success. Anyway, I suppose the most enjoyable part of life is making progress and relying on your abilities to flourish and thrive. So, I personally go for intelligence and innovation rather than happiness along with naivety. Many people have lived an ordinary life so far and repeating this story can never excite me at all. We need to gain new adventurous experiences and foster our abilities so as to break out of comfort zone.
