Some educators maintain that final examinations should be replaced with continuous assessment during the term to assess students’ genuine competence.
To what extent do you concur with this point of view?

It is crystal clear that evaluating students is an essential part of every course. Some pedagogues acknowledge that they assess students through a final examination, whereas others believe in continuous assessment. From my vantage point, the latter idea should take precedence over the former one.

Firstly, it is not fair to assess students through just one examination. To explain it, many reasons can make people less productive is some situations. For example, the process of evaluation would not be accurate if the students caught a cold the day before the final exam. Besides that, all the materials that are taught to students cannot be asked in just one examination. So, based of the aforementioned reasons, final examinations cannot reveal students’ qualities precisely.

Continuous assessment effects many positive points. It can be figured out that in which fields each student has deficiency. Since the students have to take exams during a semester, they cannot put their study off until the last days of the course.

To wrap it up, it seems to me that carrying out numerous tests during each term can cast light much better on the students’ knowledge.
