Frugal 1100 Words You Need Week 16 Day 2

Frugal 1100 Words You Need

/ˈfruː.gəl/ (adj)

  1. careful to spend money on buying things that are absolutely necessary, thrifty, prudent, economical, parsimonious, penny-wise, stingy, tight
  2. a frugal meal is simple, meager and small

Adding some frugal recipes to your dinner rotation is one thing that can definitely help. I’ve gathered 60 healthy recipes that cost less than $1 per serving. These meals will not only help you to feel your best in the midst of all the cookie swaps, they’ll also help you feel better about your bank account.

Frugal living simply means learning how to get the most out of everything we have and spending less on the things we don’t need. Maybe you are thinking, “That sounds great, but I wasn’t raised as a homesteader. How do I live frugally?”

Confession time: I’m a cheapskate. Some would say frugal, which sounds much more positive, but in reality I can be a real cheapskate. I am fairly frugal (though not always), but sometimes I take it too far: I have T-shirts with holes in them, I never buy new clothes, we’re shopping for a new couch because our current one has holes in it, and I ran my current pair of running shoes until the soles fell off.

However, I have gradually learned to be frugal in many ways that I would recommend to others. I don’t think you should have holes in your couch, and you should definitely replace your running shoes more often than I do, but there are many ways to cut back on spending and live a more frugal lifestyle.
