Why does my beau constantly walk ahead of me when we are out together?
My beau does the same thing. I’ve mentioned that it bothers me many times and my mother has always taught me that it’s disrespectful. Like you would walk ahead of your two year old child so why would you walk ahead of someone that you hold in high regards?

I suspect that your boyfriend’s natural walking speed is just faster than yours is. It’s hard for someone to adjust their walking to a pace that doesn’t quite “feel right” to them, so they tend to get ahead, and then stop and wait. Fast hikers and slow hikers on trails do this all the time. It’s almost certainly not something that he’s doing deliberately, or even consciously.
