Mar GRE Vocabulary Flashcard

Mar GRE Vocabulary Flashcard

/mɑːʳ/ (verb)

Definition

to destroy or spoil something and make it less effective or enjoyable, deface, damage, impair, blight, ruin, scar, mutilate, injure, blemish, detract from, disfigure, deform, harm, stain

Example

The country earns so much money from tourism. People receive knowledge from others, everyone gets to know the traditions and cultures of each other which strengthens the bond of all the humans rather than creating wars. And even if it does spoil or mar your country a little bit than the country would get more responsible and mature to keep their place neat and tidy.

Tourism is a good thing for countries. It does not spoil or mar it at all. In fact it can help boost the country quite a bit. The earned money can be spent on things that will go back into the country. These things can even make the country more beautiful than before.
