Judy was an orphan girl with the support of her anonymous sponsor whom Judy knew as “John Smith”. She could now go to high school. She had only seen his shadow once. And because of his long shadow, he was called “Daddy Long Legs“. She wrote a letter to him every month. In the end, despite the big age difference, they got married.
