IELTS Writing Section
Task 1
In Task 1 of the IELTS Academic Test, you should write a summary of at least 150 words, eliciting the information reflected in a particular graph (bar, line or pie graph), table, chart, or process (how something works, how something is done). In this task, your ability to select, identify, report, describe and compare significant information is closely tested. In IELTS Writing Task 1, you have 20 minutes to complete the report.
Task 2
You should respond to a topic. The topic is usually argumentative and challenging. You should express your ideas, outline problems, summarize the details, come up with possible solutions, and support your claims with arguments, reasons and examples based on your own experience and knowledge.
This task is even more important in the eyes of the IELTS examiners in comparison to Task 1.
