Part 1: Introduction

  • Get ready to answer some personal questions about yourself.
  • Please note that the entire interview is recorded.
  • This is a dialogue or two-way conversation between you and the examiner.
  • Time: 4 to 5 Minutes

Questions:

  1. Well, as you know, yesterday was the international day of family. How important is family to you?
  2. How much time do you spend with your family?
  3. Do you have a small family or a large family?
  4. Have you raised your own family?
  5. Do you know the meaning of ‘raising your own family’?
  6. What is your definition of a family?
  7. Do you think that a family should necessarily have a child in it?

Part 2: Cue Card

  • You have 1 minute to consider the prompts or questions in the cue card or topic card below.
  • After preparing your answers, then you have 2 minutes to answer the questions.

Topic Card:

Describe a film that you have enjoyed watching.
You should say:

  • what genre it belongs to
  • why you enjoyed it so much
  • when you watched it for the first time
  • any special lesson or theme you have learned from it

Part 3: Details Discussion

  • Answer some follow-up questions generally about the topic card asked by the examiner.
  • You should be ready to talk about more abstract ideas and issues.
  • Your fluency, accuracy (grammar knowledge) and logic will be closely assessed.
  • It is not a monologue. Instead, it is a two-way conversation between you and the examiner.
  • Time: 4 to 5 minutes

Questions:

  1. Some people are such couch potatoes. What’s your idea about those people who spend a great deal of time in front of the television?
  2. Some films are designed to brainwash people. How much do you concur with this point of view?
  3. What is your perspective on film industry and its effect on our lives?

  4. Your answer about the possibility of being brainwashed by some films was not clear. In fact, it was rather confusing.
