IELTS Essay on Entrepreneurship
Some people believe that the prospects of success in entrepreneurship have improved compared to the 20th century, whereas others contend that they have declined due to the increasingly stiff competition in running a successful business.
What is your point of view about this statement? Support your claim with reasons.
Entrepreneurship is a technical term that may have broad and different definitions in business and economics. Today it is a discipline of education in the major field of management and is thought in most of the universities across the world. But let we define it as the activity of setting up a business with taking its financial risks in the hope of profit. If you ask me, I will say that in the 12th century, chances or opportunities for success in entrepreneurship have increased in the contrast with last century.
My first explanation is based on increasing pace of technological, economic, political, societal and environmental change in the world. Increasing speed and rate of change in the businesses is something obvious. And in compare to the past changes are more frequent. That is, the amount of time needed for shaping or happening a new change became shorter. So, this rapid and frequent changes provided more prospects to entrepreneurs. Change provide appropriate substructure and texture for establishment of new successful businesses and creative startups.
Secondly, technology is a powerful means for entrepreneurship. Emerging technology is like a magic wand in the hand of entrepreneurs for setting up new and high tech based enterprises. Emergence of one of a single new technology creates the chance for appearance of hundreds of new entrepreneurial opportunities. The increasing rate of new knowledge base firms that are established yearly, demonstrates that people have more ability in entrepreneurship.
In conclusion, I can say that entrepreneurial activities are various. But change is a key driver in relation to rate and prospects of success in entrepreneurship. Speed and frequent of change in 12th century is higher than last century. Besides, one important source of change is technology. In the 12th century we are entrepreneurs are encountered with emerging technologies that is a helping hand for them in creating new successful enterprises.
