  • I’ve always admired James Cameron, the genius behind The Abyss, Titanic, Terminator series, Avatar, etc. When Terminator was released in 1984 (precisely 40 years ago), James Cameron could lucidly see through the future. No wonder why almost all of his film products have turned out to be best-sellers.

    Thank you for your comment.

    known as = known for

Glad you liked the sci-fi movie, The Abyss.

the woman smiled to the water = the woman smiled at the water

A wise and mindful person should always pay attention to their emotions and analyze them. Our emotions, feelings, and even dreams can tell us much about our current mental health and psychological wellbeing.

As you mentioned, the ability to control our emotions skillfully is so crucial for having a balanced mind and fulfilling life.

In fact, happiness is a relative quality or state of mind, which takes its value in interaction with some other emotions. If we don’t experience sadness, we can never truly appreciate the feelings of joy and happiness, and vice versa.

Such a complete and constructive criticism on the film, The Experiment!
I’m sorry about your experience while watching this film which is full of violence but great psychological messages to get.

This was not a film, Soroosh, but a poem by Robert Frost. And about your question, I guess the poet was attracted to the tranquility and beauty of the scene covered with snow, and because of that, he wanted to stay there longer than expected.

That’s a fairly decent comment you’ve posted, Soroosh. Keep doing that. Their language was not alphabetical like English, Persian, etc., but logographical, like Chinese. It means that for each word or concept, there’s a corresponding image or sign to represent the concept.

Such a fair comparison you’ve made between this poem and Sohrab Sepehri’s! Thank you! I wish we could analyze his poems as well, but this is basically an English course.

You got the whole poem right. I selected and recited this poem simple because I’ve experienced this dilemma a great number of times. Like the poet, Robert Frost, I’m also fascinated by nature. For this reason, I often allocate some short time to myself in the nature each day, no matter what.
