    Feedback
    1. they get much / far so involved with
    so much + Noun
much so + adj / adv
    2. They both are so important that there should be a balance between them
You have used ‘that’ and for this reason, it’s better to use ‘so’ in order to draw a conclusion.
    3. not the whole of it
    4. if we get too involved with (TOO)
    to vs. too

Thank you for voicing your opinions. We will have a discussion on the points you’ve made here.

Please note that when you create a new topic in a forum, you MUST ask only one question about that topic. In other words, please do not ask several unrelated questions in one single topic.
You can create unlimited topics with relevant / related questions, though.

in reply to: Present Perfect vs Past Perfect in English #105276

In terms of the functions of these 2 tenses, I should say that we use present perfect tense to refer to an action that started in the past and either the results of that action or the action itself continues to the present time or it has reached for the present time and it might continue into the future. For example:
This house has been vacant since 2010.
The above sentence means that the house is still vacant.
Past perfect tense is used to refer to an action that occurred before another action in the past, and therefore, it cannot reach the present moment. For example:
When I arrived home, the thieves had already stolen everything.
In the above sentence, 2 actions occurred in the past:
    1. arriving home
    2. stealing everything
We put the older action in the past perfect tense.
For more information about present perfect tense, study this article.

in reply to: A Number of vs. Numbers of – English Grammar #105271

    The answer is no.
It’s not grammatically correct to put it this way. Instead, you should use one of the followings: I have …
    a number of questions
    a few questions
    few questions
    several questions
    a couple of questions
    a handful of questions
    And the like…
Please note that the verb for “a number of” is always plural, and the verb for “the number of” is always singular.
In English, ‘numbers’ can be used to indicate the number of people attending an event or activity.

in reply to: Meaningly Meaning in English – English Forum #105264

Although it is rarely used, the word, meaningly, exists in English and it is an adverb.
The meaning of meaningly is semantically or from a meaningful point of view in a context or conversation.
Semantics is a branch of linguistics which deals with the scientific study of intended meanings in a discourse of conversation.

Therefore, your example could be restated in the following way:

How are these two sentences different from each other from a semantic point of view?

in reply to: English Question on Time Management Skills #105114

Some degree of waste of time is quite normal because we are not robots or automatons, and sometimes various types of emotions just kick in and deviate us from perfectly managing our time. After all, I believe strict and hectic time management makes one’s life miserable and sad, although I’m a big fan of time management.

The point is that, I believe, we must be aware of what we are doing and where we are heading, and enjoy the lengthy journey of life.

I completely agree with you on being an early bird. In English, we say, “an early bird catches the worm“, particularly, the first hour of each day has a marvelous effect on the rest of the day. Therefore, we need to start our day brilliantly.
