Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterWOW! I was impressed by your elaborate criticism about the Rango movie. Thank you so much for your review.
I should say that I have a higher opinion about this animated movie, and for this reason, I’m gonna rank it 9 out of 10. My elevated opinion about the movie is basically because of its profound story with didactic messages.
To me, the climax of the story was when Rango was trying to cross the street at night. The background music and the nightly ambience haunted me so bad, and I had to watch that part several times. Crossing the street was a symbol of transformation in life, which was possible but at a cost. it was such a risky endeavor. However, it was necessary for Rango to reach for salvation and enlightenment, which was represented in the film by the spirit of the west.
Another theme of the movie was identity crisis. Before crossing the street at that night, Rango questioned himself who he was, and answered himself as “nobody”. He was actually a nonentity suffering from nihilism. Yet, he was resolute to change, and that’s why he became enlightened or transformed.
In this highly satirical masterpiece, Rango was first like a fish out of water. Although he was a chameleon or lizard which should be really good at camouflaging, he literally failed to blend in with the surrounding atmosphere and people. However, he optimistically pretended to be in charge of everything. In English, we say, “fake it till you make it“.
Finally, I think the movie is trying to instill the philosophy of existentialism in our minds. That is to say, we can be whomever we want to be. We just need to know our passion in life and take steps slowly but steadily in the journey. Exactly like Rango, who managed to have faith in himself by the end of the movie, and because of his self-confidence (having faith in himself), he didn’t need to be worried about anything or anybody.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterI totally agree with you on various resilience levels in different people. You cannot expect all people to have the same personality traits and react to a single situation similarly. I can back up my argument with another maxim that reads “different strokes for different folks“. In addition, I’d like to say that sometimes we don’t really need to tolerate a critical situation. Instead, we could innovatively find out novel ways to bypass the issue without tolerating any difficulty. My point is that we should not act like bigots or narrow-minded people. I mean we’re supposed to work smarter not harder.
For this reason, it’s not surprising to note that some lazy but smart people can sometimes think of and devise extremely operational methods for dealing with critical situations.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterThat must be quite a thrilling adventure! As you said, sometimes, I like to stay away from civilization and think more deeply about life.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterJust don’t forget that when in Rome do as the Romans do. I don’t know about the etymology of this English proverb and wonder whether you’re good at acculturation or not. Perhaps Romans are not very culturally flexible and you should be able to adapt yourself to their established social etiquettes and norms. I added this point because the trip is supposed to last for a complete month, which is not a short period of time.
On the other hand, I should acknowledge that this trip must be giving you a thrill to enjoy the special culture and architecture of Rome as you correctly mentioned.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterHaving a productive life is much better and more important than being physically attractive, in my opinion. It’s all about the depth or width of your life, and I choose the former, that is, the depth of life.
As the founder and chief administrator of LELB Society, which is a bilingual academy of English and Persian, my professional career and life are merged with a high level of productivity. I believe that you can easily compensate for any lack of physical attractiveness (if there is any) through motivation, productivity, people skills, and the like.
Take the case of Stephen Hawking, for example. He was not physically attractive, especially toward the end of his life. However, he was highly motivated and active despite his physical disability.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterSuch a firm and straightforward remark! It’s clear that loving your family comes first compared to other factors in life, for which I do admire you! Just remember that the question is not directly related to your connection with your family, but your life expectancy or longevity.
In other words, it concerns the quantity of life as opposed to its quality. People could have a pretty short life but stay so close and intimate to their family members, and also vice versa. You also mentioned “as long as possible”, and from that vantage point, it’s clear that you like to be in close touch with your family members as long as possible.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterThat’s quite a logical answer to this question! First of all, I should say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it means that physical beauty and appearance are, to a high extent, relative. Second of all, I’ve seen many people who are not that physically charming or attractive, yet they do own charismatic abilities and a great sense of magnetism.
What’s more, being extremely attractive might have its own drawbacks, as well. For instance, you cannot lead a normal life and enjoy it in the long run as your privacy might be violated from time to time.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymaster

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterThat’s quite admirable, I mean trying to change the history of your nation for the better! We can study the history and learn from it to a great extent, and one of the main purposes of recorded history is, in essence, learning from it.
Reflection upon history is absolutely advantageous in the sense that it opens up our eyes to facts and events so that we would not have to repeat the same mistakes or blunders in the future.
Maybe that’s why we have this proverb in English that reads, history repeats itself, and in my idea, it means that unfortunately people do not pay enough attention to historical facts and events, and as a result, sometimes they have to experience the same failures.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterIt is completely understandable that you don’t like to LEAVE (not live) your family and travel to the past. However, you should note that these questions are hypothetical and aimed at arousing challenging discussions. Otherwise, asking and answering simple and unchallenging questions would be thoroughly easy and not argumentative at all.
When you try to respond to these questions, you tend to forget that you’re learning and using English to communicate with others; and at the same time, you unconsciously brush up your newly learned vocabulary and use them to make yourself understood. As a matter of fact, these forums, if taken seriously, have a great deal of advantages.

Dr. Mohammad Hossein Hariri AslKeymasterFrom what you said, I can conclude that historical events in the world are basically inevitable and they are bound to happen sooner or later. Well, with due respect to your idea, I think otherwise. I believe some major events in history could have altered or modified if we had had the science and technology to time travel.
However, I should admit that time travel is quite a remarkable feat as it requires an abundance of energy and access to state-of-the-art technology. On the basis of the Butterfly Effect, one minor and nominal change could yield outstandingly major changes in a nonlinear manner.
